AI on a Social Mission is a community and a conference. We are writing the story of purpose-oriented AI Systems and Sustainable Digital Societies.
The amount of benefit AI will bring depends on the political system and investment models it is deployed in and this is why, our annual conference and our year-round workshops deliver thought-provoking content on the design and the governance of Artificial Intelligence Systems.
Our programs are curated to address critical issues of power dynamics, bias, systemic change, political economy, geopolitics, cyber-resilience, digital economy partnerships, gender equality, and more.
Expect independent, mission-oriented, multisectoral and multidisciplinary experts from around the globe.
Meet reknowned experts as well as artists, start-ups, business and government leaders, up and coming researchers, innovators, innovative policy makers and curious citizens.
Join informed, balanced and constructive discussions on current issues.

AIOASM 2022 - November 16th and 17th
November 16th & 17th
Over 30 international experts will gather virtually on November 16 and 17 for a series of workshops, roundtables and conferences on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on women, our youth, the environment and our businesses.
While until recently AI was in the realm of science fiction, recent advances have inserted AI into many facets of our lives. The opportunities of AI are numerous - as are the risks. With such a disruptive innovation, it is essential to ensure that AI is developed ethically and responsibly, in a way that is equitable and accessible to all.
The AI on a Social Mission conference programming examines:
The proposed AI and Data Act (PL C-27) including a presentation from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada;
Critical global partnerships (green economy, democracy);
Risk management and ESG (Environment, Society, Governance) in light of emerging AI legislation (EU, U.S., Canada);
Children and youth safety on the internet and metavers;
The impact of gender equality on security, natural resource management and the economy;
The NATO Centre of Excellence on Climate Security and Geopolitics that Canada will host in 2023;
The antibioresistance crisis and the environment (Yoshua Bengio).
This year, after two sold-out in-person editions, and two internationally distributed online editions, reaching a virtual community of over 50,000 members, we invite you to view the full program.
This program has been confirmed by the Barreau du Québec for the purposes of mandatory continuing education, for a duration of 6 hours 30 minutes.
A program conceived by AI Impact Alliance
